eisblume gloves…

2010/02/16

Even though I was not feeling well at all on Friday, I decided to cast on my Eisblume gloves for the Ravelympics…

13 rounds in and I realize, I should be knitting through the back loop. GAH! So I frog and restart.

This time I get 30 rounds in before I realize that I have screwed up somewhere and cant’ figure out where or how to adjust. GAH! So I get pissed, frog it all and restart AGAIN.

The third time seems to be the charm! The pic below is at the end of chart 1, and I’m about halfway through chart 2 now. Should be completely done with the first glove tonight! :D

Learning to knit from a chart as well as do beads has been quite a challenge – but even with the problems, I have enjoyed knitting this pattern so far!

wow — you have put in the mileage here! But it is a great pattern! I’m doing it too, but oh so slow, sigh … just up to about row 50ish of the cuff. I have narrow wrists so I always have to do “cuffs” on 2.25s, and the HiyaHiyas started to wreck havoc on my hands. So I got some Crystal palace wooden circulars today, and am looking forward to switching to 2.5 s right after the thumb part!!

But I really look forward to seeing the whole glove here!

Thanks! It goes soooo much quicker once the cuff is done… Have you tried the Knit Picks circs? I absolutely LOVE them! And my small DPN set is the Knit Pick Harmony’s – nice and pointy and just slippery enough.

I started out using the KnitPicks wooden dpns but wanted to do magic loop. Haven’t had a chance to check out whether they have the circulars long enough in 2.25 for magic loop (doing putzing around the house in between knitting LOL) but will soon … I did get some Crystal Palace wooden circulars yesterday (2.25) and they are working fine.
