The Olympics and therefore the Ravelympics begin Friday! And I’m just itching to cast on the Eisblume gloves!! I have the yarn and the beads:

Makings of Eisblume Gloves
Since I can’t cast on, I have to be content to looking at the progress of the other folks doing the KAL – one woman has an entire (non-beaded) glove complete! So I’m hoping that means it’s not as scary as the pattern looks, even though I know the beading is going to make things slower. Can’t wait!!!!

But you can call me Pam. My current obsession is to knit 13 (maybe 14) of Julia Mueller's Glove Designs - and as of Jan 1, 2010, I have NEVER knit a glove before - this should be fun!

Must be pure torture waiting to knit with that gorgeous yarn! I’m looking forward to seeing the completed pair.
Thanks! It is killing me to have to wait to cast on…
wow — you are going to do the beads … good for you! Just found you/your project on Ravelry — I’ll also attempt the gloves (without beads) for the Olympics.
One thinks you should get extra credit for the beads!! I’ve stopped looking at the KAL because so many had started LOL but I wanted to use a specific yarn from a favorite online shop (Eat Sleep Knit) so I decided to use the Eisblume for my Olympics project.
good luck! It should be a lot of fun!

I wasn’t sure I was EVER going to find just the right yarn! I bought mine from Etsy. And I’m glad to know I’m not alone in knitting these for the Olympics. Good Luck to you!
Beautiful work! And good for you for getting started again each time after frogging. So many would have given up!
Thanks!
